Are you aware of the risks in your day-to-day life that could be putting your smile at an increased risk for several forms of tooth hazard damage? If you are not careful, your dietary selections and the choices made for your mouth can easily destroy your teeth and gums. Always remember that your teeth are only designed for eating and should only be used for eating healthy foods.

Never try to use your teeth to open any products. This includes trying to open bottle caps or other similar packaging materials. By trying to use your teeth for tasks for which they are not intended, you can easily cause dental damage to occur. Avoid tooth hazards such as these, and always have scissors or actual bottle openers handy.

Exercise caution with products in your diet. Be aware that sugars and starches are known dental hazards, as they can easily be converted into harmful acids capable of causing dental erosion and tooth decay. Furthermore, limit these products to large meals only, as constant snacking throughout the day can increase the rate at which tooth decay can occur.
